opposite to the planet's rotation. The moon's gravity slowly pulled on Uranus until the planet was spinning on its side. Uranus was also slowly pulling the moon closer. Eventually, the moon got too close to Uranus. It was torn apart by the planet's gravitational pull. The pieces of the large moon formed several of the smaller moons that still orbit Uranus.
